A boudoir session is a portrait session where you wear sexy outfits, lingerie, dresses, or even go scantily clad. Women get their photographs taken for a number of reasons. But guess what? Only you need to know the reason you have them done. While these sessions can seem intimidating, I can assure you the actual experience is the complete opposite. In fact, you will feel confident and beautiful.
The most popular reason why my clients book a boudoir session is for their significant other. It makes the perfect birthday gift, Valentine’s day gift, wedding gift, or simply cause it’s a Tuesday gift. Now that’s not to say you need a man to enjoy something like this. For example, it’s great to celebrate a milestone. Forty and fabulous? Maybe you’d reached your fitness goals and want to show off your new physique. Are you pregnant and want to showcase what your magnificent body is capable of? Heck, maybe you just got a tattoo in a suggestive place and want to show it off. The purpose of a boudoir session is to document you now. So one day you can look back on them and remember you were a knockout.
Editing and Touchups
My boudoir sessions include all my editing tricks. While most sessions focus on the face, a boudoir session gets you full-body editing. That doesn’t mean you’re going to be transformed into a size two twenty-year-old. You’re still you. And the idea is for you to shine through. So, I smooth out any bulging from lingerie elastics. I remove body scars and blemishes. Body hair remains as is so shave, wax, laser whatever you don’t want. I do smoothen wrinkles, varicose veins, and stretch marks. However, depending on their severity, I can’t always remove them completely.
If you’re looking for ideas on what to wear or hair/makeup options for your boudoir session, we can work through that together. If you have any privacy requests regarding your shoot, do let me know.
This boudoir session was done at Glasshouse Studios. It was a Covid-Friendly session.
