Kiran & Christopher’s wedding at Cambridge Mill has been very well anticipated. I’ve been keeping up with the bride regularly. In all the planning prior to the event, I’ve been getting regular updates. Not to mention a swaray of inspirational ideas for photo opportunities. Always a fan of a bride excited for the event.
It couldn’t have been a more perfect start. The Cambridge Mill is one of my favorite wedding venues. Everything is in one location and there are so many photo locations close by. Even the couple was getting ready at the venue. Which meant I could arrive early and have everything setup before the festivities started. And what better way to kick things off than a glasshouse ceremony overlooking the waterfront.
We went straight from the ceremony to drop point I like to use for group photos. And this couple wanted one giant shot with everyone!!! We were even able to sort out all the family photos at the same lookout point before the next ceremony began.
The portrait formal session of this summer wedding was at the glorious Mill Race Park in Cambridge, Ontario. It’s a waterfront park just across the street from their venue, Cambridge Mill. The park’s stone wall architecture makes it look almost like a ruin. I could imagine this park would function beautifully as a mini-amphitheater. We used it in a similar manner. It was the backdrop of this couple’s love story as they took center stage. Being this was a brunch wedding, there was a limit to how much time we could spend taking photos. Officially I only had twenty minutes with the option for more after the event was complete. But their bridal party was absolutely amazing. So we were able to get everything in within that time frame.
The formal festivities of the afternoon were all held at the Cambridge Mill. I absolutely love this venue. The reception room had an ancient rustic feel like an old stone castle. This couple also utilized mint green which really gave the room an elegant feel. Their eye for simplicity and detail is amazing. And can I just say serving breakfast as your wedding meal is pure genius. I have to eat chicken or beef at every wedding I attend. And there I was getting fresh strawberry and cream waffles. The couple had a few speeches. And once the dance floor opened, everyone was out enjoying themselves. All in all, it was a very enjoyable wedding experience.
