Multi-Day Destination Wedding – Atlanta
Most couples during Covid downsized their wedding to the bare essentials. Divya & Naveed were my first wedding couple when the lockdown first started to open. 10 people outdoors, social distanced, masked, and live-streamed to the whole family in Atlanta. But now they’re going to do it all over again with everyone as a destination wedding. Hey, if you’re only going to marry twice, you might as well do it right. They had their destination wedding at the Westin Hotel Atlanta Perimeter North. This hotel accommodated all the pre events leading up to and including their South Indian Wedding. However, one of the nice things of having such a small crowd, is it doesn’t stop you from having a big event. Or rather, a long event.
This South Indian Wedding had guests attending from around the world. The weekend was full events and I photographed all of them. The couple running the show was absolutely epic. The groom found me a couple years back during the Covid lockdown. I photographed, filmed, and live-streamed their mini wedding. This time luckily, I’m only photographing.
Divya & Naveed did arrive to the hotel a few days early in attempts to have everything organized before the festivities started. However, even when things started, they were still planning the days to come. How they kept up with the planning, and the celebrations while keeping their sanity… I will never know. I’m sure they had their stressful moments, but no bride/groomzillas appeared that entire week.
I provided both photography coverage for each event. This was a Hindu / Muslim fusion.
Day 2 Sangeet
The Sangeet is a fun celebration where guests will sing and dance to entertain the bride and groom. Normally these events are pretty mellow. Guests sit on a cushioned floor playing the drums and singing. This was not one of those event. Both the bride’s family and the groom’s family loved to dance. So there was a full night of coordinated performances.
Be sure to check out the rest of this wedding…
