Estates of Sunnybrook
The Estates of Sunnybrook is a little gem in Toronto. An all-inclusive resort that is stunning inside and out. Now pair that with a couple that is the same, and you have perfection. I’m talking a gorgeous day. Such a fun bridal party. Not a fan of the 6:00 am bridal prep for this brunch wedding. But when the wedding day is done and clear by 4… the lack of sleep is worth it.
Karen and Paul’s summer wedding is exactly the kind of wedding that I love documenting, and the Estates of Sunnybrook is such an amazing venue. It was 100% all about the people, the connections, and beautiful relationships. It’s the perfect venue for these two. The venue was classy and elegant and really needed no extras. Which is great, considering the couple was on a budget and paid for this event themselves.
Highlights
Definite highlights for me include the gorgeous outdoor ceremony. The civil ceremony was set under a canopy of trees behind the main building. Karen walked down the aisle with her father and couldn’t stop crying after that. It got even worse when Paul recited his vows. There was not a dry seat in the house.
Inside they had an entire room dedicated to dessert. My kinda people. The speeches were pretty hilarious at this wedding. So you will see a lot of people laughing throughout the reception photos. However, my favorite moment was their first dance which was an all-out dance routine. No one knew this was coming including my team. But boy did we enjoy capturing it.
It was an absolute pleasure working with these two on their wedding day. They also returned for maternity and newborn photos in 2017 to document the birth of their baby girl. So you’ll be seeing these two again.
The second shooter for this wedding was Carla Evans.
I also photographed their Maternity Session, Newborn Shoot, 2020 Christmas Mini, and 2021 Christmas Mini.
