COVID-19: Are you open?
Yes, I am. However, some photography services are limited due to the current. For a full breakdown of what services are currently being offered, check out my COVID page. As well as sample shoots that are COVID-Friendly.
How can I get in touch with you?
There is a Contact Page on this website where you can reach me directly via email. At least for the initial contact, I prefer to keep communication in writing so there is no confusion on details. However leading up to your event and even during the event, I can be reached by phone. Please note my office hours are Monday-Thursday 10:00 am-5:00 pm. Any communication required outside of office hours may be delayed based on availability.
How much does it cost to hire you for a wedding?
$1800 for the day. This covers me as your one photographer for the day, and the edited digital files of the photos produced. Start and finish time is up to you with midnight being the latest. You’ll get coverage from bridal prep to reception. There are no taxes, down payments, or booking fees. Hotel and travel expenses may be added depending on the location of your event. What if my wedding is longer than one day?
Many weddings do involve other elements such as engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and smaller religious ceremonies. I do offer photography discounts on additional days depending on the length and size of each event. Check out my Services Page for a full breakdown. Feel free to contact me for more details.
How many photos do we get?
This depends on you. The timeline of the day, number of guests, language barriers… all play a part in the final roll count. I don’t censor my images. Everything I shoot you get (minus the occasional flash misfire, or exposure tests). On average my number range 400-700 for a 1 shooter full day package.
Can we print our own photos?
Yes of course. I provide all images as high-resolution digital files on USB or via downloading link for easy sharing/printing. There are no watermarks and you will have full rights to the images to duplicate as you see fit. However, if you do decide to use me for printing, my prices are posted.
Do you offer printing?
I do offer printing services along with framing, albums, and canvases. A full price list is available on my Printing Services Page. However, these are all features you can decide on once you’ve had a chance to review the images from your event or session. Many couples I’ve worked with have opted to perform these services independently to save costs. Honestly, I encourage it. Producing your own wedding album allows you to combine my images along with those provided by family members to create a more personal story of your wedding day.
How long will it take to get our photos?
It takes approximately 1-2 weeks to edit and prepare the photos for delivery. A couple of days leeway may be needed during the peak wedding season. The delivery itself would be dependent on schedule availability, when you return from your honeymoon, and possibly postal service if the photos are being mailed to you.
What kind of editing is included in your packages?
The edits are very subtle and involve airbrushing to give the skin a nice glow, evening out lighting, fixing blinkers and wandering eyes.
How does your copyright work?
The copyright is shared. Once the images are paid for, you are free to do anything you wish with them. Print, social media share, submit to magazines, etc. The only thing I reserve the right to do is to include the images in my portfolio and social media.
What if I don’t want my photos posted online?
If you’d prefer more privacy with your images, please let me know before the wedding day. I have no issues refraining from posting images on my website and social media accounts such as Facebook, Flickr, Blog, Pinterest, and Youtube. However I do like to include at least 2-3 images on my Instagram which showcases the type of projects I’m currently working on. If you’d prefer full exclusive rights to the images where no one gets to see them except you, additional fees will apply.
Do you photograph anything else other than wedding?
Yes, I do. My background in photography is quite diverse so I can work with any special event you might have coming up including baby showers, christenings, bar mitzvahs, cotillions, birthday parties, and business events. Any excuse to celebrate is a good one. I also offer lifestyle shoots for families and couples who wish to try something new. And the new portrait studio can accommodate maternities, newborns, boudoir, products, editorial fashion, corporate headshots, and back-to-school photos.
Do you ever have any promotional discounts?
Yes, I do. Any current promotions I have available are posted on my Promotions page. These are all temporary deals with an expiry date. The discounts associated with these promotions are as stated and none transferable. So, for example, if I’m offering a discount on newborn sessions, it can’t be used towards a family session.
Do you do destination weddings?
Yes, I do. The same rules apply. You’d pay any travel/hotel expenses upfront. This acts as a retainer to reserve the date. Destination weddings do get 50% off the single shooter full day photography package. Add-on days are complimentary during the duration of the trip. You’d simply pay the extra hotel time. So, rehearsal dinners, bachelor/ette parties, family tours, honeymoon shoots… are included in your trip package.
What happens if it rains on the wedding day?
Rain, snow, wind… this is Canada, we get it all. What we do about it is up to you. So, if you’re willing to go with it, I’ll be right there with you. However, if the weather is bad enough where you do decide to cancel your outdoor shoot, I do offer a 1-hour followup shoot within a week of your wedding. Simply put on your wedding gear and we’ll get some great shots of the two of you once the weather stabilizes. **This service only applies if the outdoor shoot is canceled due to bad weather.
What method of payment do you accept?
Cash is preferred. I don’t require upfront payments. In fact, for wedding photography, you don’t pay anything until you have the finished digital files in hand. At that point, the one thing you’ll have a lot of is cash from all the guests who attended. So in reality, I’m not really part of the wedding budget but rather a gift from the family. If you do wish to pay by cheque, I must receive the payment at the end of the event since it takes a week to process. If you do wish to pay by etransfer, I must receive the payment 1 hour before delivery so the transfer has time to process.
Are you insured?
My gear is insured and I make a point of having backups at your event in case something gets damaged. However, you are responsible for your own safety, the safety of your property, and party members. So, you choose the locations for all your events. You choose the people involved in all your events. And you reserve the right to refuse any suggestions made by the photographer if you feel it is unsafe. So any liability fees, permit fees, and responsibilities in regards to insurance for your wedding day falls on you.
What kind of equipment do you use?
For photography, I primarily use a Canon 5DM3 for shooting with a Canon 5DM2 and Canon 6D as backups. In fact, I have backups for all my equipment. Flashes include a 430ex, a 320ex, a spinlight 360, and 2 separate portable strobe systems that can accommodate me for any type of lighting environment. I have a total of 10 lenses, but usually, only carry 3-4 custom selected for your wedding style. 4 camera batteries, 30 flash batteries, and I shoot your wedding across 8 memory cards. The idea behind all this photography equipment is to guarantee being prepared no matter what your wedding throws at me.
Do you offer a contract?
Yes, I do. Since I don’t require down payments, the contract serves as an official document to guarantee my attendance on the wedding day. Dates are first come first serve. There are no holds or reserves on a wedding date. Once I receive the signed contract from you, I’ll send you an email confirming your booking. If you don’t receive this confirmation, please follow-up.
