Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club
The Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club is not your usual wedding venue. It offers a host of sailing events. Programs include keelboat racing, a sailing school, dinghy racing programs, and regattas. It happens to be where the couple first met. And, they’ve been long time members of the club. So even though The Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club doesn’t usually host weddings, they did make an exception. Suddenly, this venue’s waterfront setup and marina become the backdrop of a beautiful wedding and cocktail party.
Guild Park and Gardens
Guild Park and Gardens is a public park in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The park was formerly the site of an artist colony. It is notable for its collection of saved building relics. These buildings are primarily in downtown Toronto and arranged as ancient ruins. This particular location also happens to have some personal significance to the groom’s family. In fact, I photographed Ron’s daughter’s wedding here last year. Granted, these two weddings are very different from each other. After all, his daughter’s wedding was Halloween themed with a Nightmare Before Christmas motif. Ron, on the other hand, clearly didn’t enjoy being the centre of attention. However, he did agree to anything in order to make his new wife happy. That is something I will always appreciate.
Dragon’s Den
Whenever I get a celebrity bride or groom, I always like to feature them here. Karyn is an inventor/entrepreneur. She first appeared on Season 4 of Dragon’s Den. She designed her Tail Wags Helmet covers to encourage kids and adults to wear their helmets. Her business proposal won over two Dragon’s Den investors. Today, Tail Wags features over 40 designs including superheroes and animal characters. Each helmet cover has its own personality and each making its own statement. Designs range from unicorns and dinosaurs to princesses and piranhas. Children love dressing-up their safety helmets with Tail Wags Helmet Covers.
