Grand Olympia Wedding
Rescheduling and reworking weddings has been a big thing these past couple years. This particular wedding more than most. They were supposed to get married at the Grand Olympia Hospitality and Convention Centre in 2020. But with all the guest count restrictions due to Covid-19, that was not going to happen. Granted there were still some restrictions even now at the Grand Olympia, but they were able to have their dream wedding as originally planned.
Wedding Day
The Grand Olympia is located in Stoney Creek Ontario and they are one of the very popular locations to get married at in Hamilton. The bride did get her hair/makeup done at a nearby hotel. So the venue’s bridal suite was only utilized for getting into her dress. Most couples that host their reception at the Grand Olympia, also choose to take advantage of their beautiful garden for their civil ceremony.  The outdoor ceremony location has a beautiful garden. However we only had access to the garden space during the ceremony as there was another wedding there right after. So instead I had to get creative with the venue‘s parking lot and surrounding greenery for the official wedding photos.
The reception was super fun though. The food was amazing. All the major events were scheduled perfectly. And the bridal party was a blast to work with. This was a long overdue wedding. As such, you could tell everyone was just glad to be there. For many of the guests attending, this was their first wedding in years. And for the couple, this was the first time they had even seen their extended family in a long time. So they wanted to make sure they engaged with everyone. Nothing was overly formal. A few speeches, a first dance, and then drink the night away. All an all, a fantastic event to be a part of. I’m so thankful to Sarah & Andrew for keeping me on with all the hectic rescheduling. This wedding was well worth the wait.
