Hazelton Manor Banquet & Conference Centre
This is my first time photographing at the Hazelton Manor and I absolutely loved this venue. For all the couples scared couples worried about possible bad weather and want an indoor option, look no further. Even at its bare bones, the Hazelton Manor beautiful location to work with. And the outdoor courtyard is a great option for sunset photos. While this couple did have their traditional Catholic wedding at St Roch’s Church in North York, this venue does have a beautiful setup for indoor ceremonies right on site.
James Gardens
I’m not sure how many people know about this hidden gem in the heart of Etobicoke, Ontario. James Gardens is a great portrait site for wedding photos as well as maternity and family shoots. Whenever I shoot here, we always seem to have the entire area to ourselves. Maybe a few casual locals walking through the gardens, but never any photographers. It has tree shading for those sunny days and has enough structural features to be beautiful even during the offseason. Free parking, which is always a plus. I definitely plan on using it more in the upcoming years as a possible portrait session site. It was a little flooded for this day from the week of rain we just had, but luckily there are more than enough concrete pathways to keep us dry.
Second Shooter
Michelle Paquot has been my second shooter for a few years now. She has also been running her own photography business on the side. This is one of her clients where I got to be her second shooter for the day. Love it when the tables turn. The student becomes the teacher. Michelle will be photographing my wedding in the upcoming year so I was super excited to see her take the lead with this one. And with the groom’s family being predominantly Spanish speaking, it was very impressive seeing her communicate flawlessly between both families.
