Multi-Day Hindu Wedding Masterpiece
Emelia & Shardul have been planning this multi-day Hindu Wedding for a while. They both have big families so this is going to be a very big, very long event. And they’re not even local to Canada. They are based out of California, but happen to have their families living here. They found me through a referral. I actually photographed Shardul’s cousin’s wedding last year which was also a multi-day event. But I suppose most Southasian weddings are.
The events for this wedding are scattered across 3 days. Two were pretty small scale backyard event with close family and traditional ceremonies . While the final day was a big celebrations with even bigger guest counts. This also happened to be one of the best organized multiday Hindu Weddings I have ever done. Every traditional element was planned out and kept on schedule. And as a result, the couple actually got to enjoy the days with their family.
Day 3 Wedding
The wedding day of a Hindu Wedding is no doubt the longest day. The ceremony itself lasts about 3 hours. And there is normally an outfit change before the reception. This couple had both their ceremony and reception at Angus Glen Golf Club The ceremony was outdoors. The venue’s outdoor tent was transformed with a traditional mandap for the Hindu ceremony.
We did do some couple portraits around the grounds before everyone had to go in and change. That intermission was a great chance for my team to reenergize after the long weekend. The remaining reception was kept pretty simple. First dance, speeches, and a lot of photos with the guests. Considering the guests at this event have been partying for the last 3 days, I was pleasantly surprised that they still had an energetic dance floor. Always love some good energy at a reception party. They make for some great photos.
