Multi-Day Hindu Wedding Masterpiece
This will be the first summer wedding season since Covid began without any guest, mask, or vaccine restrictions. And as such, many couples who have been delaying their big wedding plans, are finally getting to have that dream wedding. This is especially the case for Southasian couples as their events can include very large guest counts and multiple days. Priya & Pathik have been planning this multi-day Hindu Wedding for a while. They live in California, but the bulk of their family live in Toronto. So this will inevitably be a destination wedding for them, but local for me.
The events for this wedding are scattered across 4 days. Two are pretty small scale with close family and traditional ceremonies. While the other two days were big celebrations with even bigger guest counts. This also happened to be one of the best organized multiday Hindu Weddings I have ever done. Every traditional element was planned out and kept on schedule. And as a result, the couple actually got to enjoy the days with their family.
I provided photography coverage for all the events of this Hindu Wedding. And Raspal Singh was brought on as a second shooter for the larger events.
Day 1 Mehndi
This event is pretty self explanatory. It’s when the bride gets her traditional mehndi. It’s applied in artistic detail to her hands and feet. This process can take a few hours for the bride. So while she is getting her mehndi done, many of the attending female guests will do the same. Normally this is a ladies event, but the groom did participate. In fact, he put on some mehndi as well.
