Jehovah’s Witness Wedding

I don’t consider myself an expert on the Jehovah’s Witness Wedding. Despite how many I’ve done, I learn something new about the faith and background each time I capture it. The Jehovah’s Witness Wedding ceremonies are often very traditional at a local Kingdom Hall. However, the holy scripture readings are custom selected for each couple. Obviously, during the wedding day, I’m more caught up in capturing the details. This was, however, the first time I captured video for one. So I did have a chance to go over my footage and listen to the words. And as with most belief systems, it’s amazing how similar a lot of them are when it comes to love, marriage, and supporting your spouse.

This is why I was very excited about the personal letter reading Shanice and Matthew did during their morning prep. It gives some perspective to their love story and how they prioritize the significant elements in their life. So while the rest of their wedding was beautiful, the heart of their wedding was just them and their faith.

Portrait Session

We captured the photo and key video footage for this wedding at the glorious Harding Waterfront Estate in Mississauga, Ontario. This venue is definitely better known for doing all-inclusive weddings. However since it was a winter event, we used it solely for our portrait session. The architectural layout made it a great option for classy interior footage and snowy landscapes.

Reception

The formal festivities of the evening were all held at Paradise Banquet Hall in Concord, Ontario. I absolutely love this venue. The reception hall chandeliers just scream elegance. They have a beautiful outdoor garden setup that lights up at night. In most cases I’m quite content simply doing all the portrait sessions just outside. However with it being such a cold winter, this couple opted for an indoor option.
