When I first met Iram and Majid at Kariya Park, I could tell how much these two love each other. After chatting with them for only a few minutes it was pretty obvious that they were a sweet, fun-loving couple. And they were so excited about getting to spend the rest of their lives together. Earlier today these two eloped. They had a small Muslim Wedding Ceremony and celebrated it privately with their families. Now, they’re taking some time to focus on each other and get some beautiful photos out of it.
I’ve photographed engagement sessions at Kariya Park before but rarely in the fall. This park is always gorgeous. During the summer, the foliage is dense and luxurious, the pathways gently covered by a delicate ceiling of greenery, and the architectural pieces are a wonderful finishing touch. Now, add the pastel teal and pink colours of the bride’s traditional wedding dress and you’ve got one spectacular photo shoot.
Have you ever dreamt of trees slowly caressing the wind through streams of sunlight? If so, then you might have been picturing an exact scene from this wedding day. The weather report did originally predict sunny. Yet we ended up with a beautiful overcast instead. It’s rarely something couples look forward to, yet for a photographer, it’s as good as it gets. The sun literally becomes the world’s biggest softbox.
I definitely recommend that my couples choose locations that are near and dear to them for their photos. Photos in these special spots will hold such a special place in your heart and will be a great story to tell your grandkids 50 years down the road. These two choose the beautiful grounds of Kariya Park as the sight of their wedding photos as it was the place their love really blossomed.
Needless to say, the day had so much love. I am so honoured that I got to share the big day with this sweet couple even if it was only for an hour. I am also just as excited to share their dreamy fall wedding photos with you all. Thank you.
