The Lakeview
The Lakeview is a stunning waterfront wedding venue. Located on the edge of Hamilton, Ontario. It offers charm and a romantic setting for intimate weddings. It offers a picturesque setting and a beautiful view of the Toronto skyline. The Lakeview showcases a clean isolated beach. The grand ballroom offers huge windows with lots of natural sunlight coming through. It even has a lighthouse style viewing tower. This tower is an amazing photo op location at sunset. It would normally be a must-have for me when photographing a wedding. However with scattered showers throughout the day, the picturesque sunset never happened.
This venue‘s ballroom features vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. One of its most unique features is a balcony that overlooks the waters of Lake Ontario. This venue offers many features similar to a destination wedding without having to leave home. So for those looking for a simpler option, this is it. You can say “I Do” along the waterfront. Or in this case, upstairs at the Lakeview’s Ballroom which transforms into a simple wedding chapel.
Waterfront Wedding
Beach weddings in the summer have always made me nervous ever since I worked on cruise ships. They have sand messing up wedding dresses. Wrecked heels from walking along beaches. And a bride’s hair is impossible to control. On top of that, the access wind, bright sun, people swimming, and reflective water don’t always make for beautiful photos. They are great for vacation photos, but not really for weddings. I probably ended up spending more time editing the beachfront portraits for this couple than I did their entire wedding. The results from The Lakeview are quite serene though which makes it all worth it. The potential rain did provide a beautiful overcast on this otherwise sunny day.
