Madison Greenhouse Event Venue – Western and Sri Lankan Wedding fusion
This Sri Lankan Wedding was of an intimate ceremony at the Madison Greenhouse Event Venue. While I have photographed at this venue many times before, this is my first fusion Sri Lankan wedding ceremony. Now for anyone who follows my work, I pride myself in the cultural diversity of my work. Toronto is such a hotspot of different backgrounds, and I love exploring all of them. I love it even more when I get to experience a new one for the first time. And I have photographed Buddhist weddings before. One from India, one from Nepal, and one from Sri Lanka. This wedding was a western and Sri Lankan Wedding fusion.
The day started out in the bridal suite at Madison Greenhouse where the bride and bridesmaids were busy getting ready. The couple opted not to have a first look. But with such a tight gap between the ceremony and reception, I had to get a little creative with their portrait session. They had a very large bridal party, and an even large family. So we did every possible combination with the bride and groom separately before the ceremony even began. That way the only photos we had to do after were the ones that they needed to be together for. The fall colours around this venue made it super easy.
Reception
After the ceremony, we headed to Madison Greenhouse reception space to party. While the entrance was simple, the bride did have a surprise performance for her new husband that the bridesmaids participated with. A cake cutting and first dance later, and these two were free to dance the night away.
Hybrid Package
This is a relatively new service I offer. While many shooters in this industry can transition between photo and video… there are very few who can provide both simultaneously by themselves. It originally started out as an option for couples dealing with Covid guest count restrictions. By having a single photographer who could provide video as well, it opened up the opportunity to invite an additional guest. However this service has decided to stick around long past Covid simply for its convenience. By utilizing video cameras on tripods, I am able to remain continue photographing the event as per usual. Video coverage of this event is at the bottom of the page. It includes a full run through of the wedding ceremony and the scheduled highlights of the evening wedding reception. All speeches and vows are uncut so you remember every word
