Malaparte Wedding
The CN tower and downtown skyline view from Malaparte restaurant is kind of amazing. A bright sunny June day. And plenty of close friends. What more can you ask for. Jenn and Denis’s wedding brought the closeness of a small town wedding to downtown Toronto.
Jenn wore a beautiful custom lace gown, and when Denis first saw her, she had to wipe the tears from his face. These two absolutely love the city. So if there was a theme, it was Toronto. Their portrait session has some beautiful views of the city skyline and the hustle of Toronto’s metropolitan. What shone even brighter was the calm glow off of couple enjoying every bit of it. She said she had no nerves whatsoever, and just loved the little moments that she had to herself to take everything in. There were definitely some dream shots that didn’t quite turn out the way she planned. But in a way, they came out even better.
Ceremony
The couple’s ceremony was at Malaparte, and featured beautiful white rose planters at the end of the aisle. My favourite part was the customization of Denis’s wedding ring. The ring had dinosaur fossil in its construction. Meaning the ring would forever be part t-rex.
The most anticipated part of the day for was not just the first look, but walking down the aisle to her future husband. It was a very emotional moment for her, and everyone was brimming with excitement to see how beautiful she looked next to her father.
At the reception, cocktails hour was outside on the Malaparte patio, and guests were then invited into the dining room, which was beautifully decorated with white and gold accents. Each table had a gorgeous centerpiece made of roses just like bridesmaids bouquets. The most carefully decorated hors d’oeuvres were set out, with delectable desserts and a cake that so nicely matched the modern aesthetic of every other detail.
Reception
The day turned to night, meals were served, and the couple sat down to hear some hilarious stories and speeches from friends and family. And the finale was an amazing surprise performance from the bride herself. Normally when professional Caribana dancers performers at a wedding, it’s fun to watch. But when the bride is a professional Caribana dancer who leads the performance, it’s completely epic.
