Malaparte Wedding
The CN tower and downtown skyline view from Malaparte restaurant is kind of amazing. A bright sunny June day. And plenty of close friends. What more can you ask for. Caroline & Trevor’s wedding brought the closeness of a small town wedding to downtown Toronto.
Caroline wore a beautiful custom lace gown, and when Trevor first saw her, she had to wipe the tears from his face. These two absolutely love the city. So if there was a theme, it was Toronto. Their portrait session has some beautiful views of the city skyline and the hustle of Toronto’s metropolitan. What shone even brighter was the calm glow off of couple enjoying every bit of it. She said she had no nerves whatsoever, and just loved the little moments that she had to herself to take everything in. There were definitely some dream shots that didn’t quite turn out the way she planned. But in a way, they came out even better.
Ceremony
The couple’s ceremony was at Malaparte, and featured beautiful white rose planters at the end of the aisle. My favourite part was the individual speeches from loved ones recollecting memories of the bride and groom during the actual ceremony.
The most anticipated part of the day was not the ceremony, but the cocktail hour. They had the entire rooftop at Malaparte designated for their cocktail hour. And this couple had a goal of chatting with everyone there. To the point where they even extended the cocktail hour to 2 hours.
After the cocktail hour, guests were then invited into the dining room. The table decor was kept pretty simple. But the bridesmaids bouquets doubled as the centrepieces during dinner.
Reception
The day turned to night, meals were served, and the couple sat down to hear some hilarious stories and speeches from friends and family. And the finale was a first dance after dark under the lit Toronto skyline. The couple prepared a choreographed dance routine. And their guests circled around them with sparklers to cheer them on.
