Muslim Wedding
This couple found me a month before their Muslim Wedding. The event was always meant to be a small event at a local restaurant, and then a reception at 1 Hotel – Flora Lounge. Super small. Very low key. Minimal guests. And last minute, they started to wonder if they would regret not having a professional photographer. It’s crazy how often that happens.
There was no bride prep or elaborate portrait session. We did do some couple portraits at the hotel before guests started to arrive. And the family portraits and combinations were sorted in front of the Flora Lounge’s decorated bar.
Multi-Day Wedding
The Nikkah Ceremony was held in a private room at Laylak a month before. It was focused as a family affair. But the reception was for their friends. An excuse to dress up and enjoy each other’s company.
This was a fusion wedding. So the music was a good mix. There were a few speeches but it was kept to a minimal. If anything, the thing that made this reception stand out was the food. Cocktail receptions are quickly becoming my favourite thing. As someone who attends weddings regularly, I do get tired of the standard chicken or beef. And cocktail receptions just have so much more variety.
I also photographed their Nikkah ceremony.
