Old Mill Toronto
Here’s to a sweet elopement at Old Mill Toronto. Normally by now, I’d be embracing spring weddings, but it seems mother nature missed the memo. Holy moly you guys, these two were so freakin awesome to shoot. Thank you Irene and Dominic for being so epic and crazy fun. I loved hanging out with these two beautiful people and getting to capture their wedding photos because they were so cool. Most couples would be freaking out if their spring wedding had a surprise ice storm. I know I was. Oh the famous Canadian spring ice storms. With April showers come frozen flowers. However, these two totally embraced it. Irene was even up for taking some photos outdoors.
I was so happy photographing this intimate elopement The Old Mill has tons of unique spots for photo ops. If you’re looking for a romantic, moody, and elegant wedding venue in Toronto, this spot checks all the boxes. Right when you turn into the property you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a timeless European town. It has beautiful backdrops wherever you look. Including pretty lookout spots around the outdoor courtyard and stunning chandelier lit hallways indoors.
Candle Lit Ceremony
Old Mill Toronto has a small wedding chapel on site. It’s known for candlelit ceremonies. The space is pretty dark, however, it photographs beautifully this time of day. They had a sweet little civil ceremony with their families. As a special note, this wedding is by far the smallest Italian wedding I’ve ever photographed. They have a tendency to be 200+ guests. So I’m not sure how these two were able to narrow down the guest list.
After the ceremony, we took an assortment of photos around the venue. The Old Mill is the kind of location where you can shoot both your engagement and wedding photos here and never run out of new spots to explore. Also, a big bonus is that if you are having your wedding here, there is no permit required to take your engagement photos on the grounds as well. I wonder if that can apply to an anniversary shoot as well? I would love to come back next year to do a follow-up photo session with this couple during the actual spring.
