Oshawa Botanical Gardens
This year has definitely been my busiest as a wedding photographer. Not just for the sheer size of some of my weddings, but also for the quantity. I honestly thought that elopements and micro weddings would slow down when covid restrictions loosened up. But here I am, photographing big weddings on the weekends, and having elopements take over my weekdays. Here’s to Georgette & Michael’s cozy wedding at Oshawa Botanical Gardens.
Ceremony
Their Christian Ceremony was indoors at College Park – Seventh-day Adventist Church. The setup had white draping along the aisles and assorted pink flowers to add some colour. The couple recited their own vows and were able to share this special moment with some of their closest loved ones.
Once the ceremony was complete, we did mini receiving line with guests at the church before heading to Oshawa Botanical Gardens. While there, we did a few rounds of photos with their family around grounds. Afterward, it was just the couple and us exploring the grounds surrounded by all the beautiful flowers. They were so cute together. Michael was definitely learning on the go when it came to posing. But Georgette was a pro. She needed no direction when it came to snuggling up with her new husband.
Every crazy idea we came up with, they said ok too. It’s very rare during a normal full day wedding that I would have so much freedom when it comes to the formal portraits. General there are restrictions with the dress, issues of getting the couple dirty, or even a simple lack of time. But aside from the ceremony and their portrait session, there was nothing else planned for the day. In fact, we even finished their portraits early and were able to apply the extra time to the early stages of their reception.
