Paletta Mansion Wedding
This year has definitely been my busiest as a wedding photographer. Not just for the sheer size of some of my weddings, but also for the quantity. I honestly thought that elopements and micro weddings would slow down when covid restrictions loosened up. But here I am, photographing big weddings on the weekends, and having elopements take over my weekdays. But then I get couples who plan something perfectly in the middle. A small wedding with some big flair. Here’s to Kayla & David’s cozy waterfront wedding at Paletta Mansion.
Kayla’s morning prep was private with her family at the venue. I first met her when she was just finishing up hair/makeup and ready to do some fun robe photos with her bridesmaids. And yes, that was the first time I met her. We had chatted over a zoom call prior to this moment in our casual wear. A now she was looking absolutely gorgeous in the Paletta Mansion’s exquisite bridal suite.
Their civil ceremony was outside the Paletta Mansion on their patio overlooking the waterfront. It was a bit chilly so the couple had customized blankets for their loved ones. “To have and to hold, in case you get cold.” It was a sweet gesture and I know the families really appreciated it. The groom was all decked out in his formal suit and even upgraded his cane for the special occasion.
Once the ceremony was complete, we did a quick round of family photos outside the Paletta Mansion entrance. Afterward, it was just the couple and eye exploring the grounds. They were brave enough to walk out the waterfront levee wall for some stunning photos. And the evening finished with an emotional father daughter dance that left all their guests in tears. It was a very family dominated event, and as such the night was filled with swapping stories and candid moments.
