Paradise Banquet Hall
This venue offers some great variety when it comes to weddings. I have photographed many weddings at Paradise Banquet Hall and each time they are significantly different. It doesn’t matter the culture, size, theme, or couple. This venue is a chameleon. And even better, it can coordinate multiple weddings at once without conflicts between the events.
Portrait Session
This particular wedding had a very tight timeline after the ceremony. Since no portraits were being done in advance, everything had to be done 30 min before sunset. We completed most of the photos just outside Islington United Church. Family photos, bridal party pictures, and couple portraits were all done around the church grounds. Once the sun finally set, we sorted the remaining photos out at Paradise Banquet Hall after dark.
The gardens at Paradise Banquet Hall light up at night. I absolutely love photographing this venue after dark. The night lights give the photos a beautiful atmosphere. The bridge overlooks a beautiful ravine. Obviously November weddings after dark are bound to be cold so we didn’t stay outside too long. However we were able to include some fun with sparklers and the entire bridal party. We played around with some smoke bomb special effects. The bride also incorporated a white leather jacket to her wedding dress when it started getting cold. White leather jackets need to be the new thing for winter weddings. Forget the fur shawls and capes. The jacket is amazing. Highly recommended for any bride wanting to stay warm and remain stylish.
Engagement Shoot
I photographed this couple’s engagement shoot a few months early. Even then they had lingering storm clouds lurking over their portrait session. They may not have the best weather, but they definitely have the best attitude. And that makes for a great event.
The second shooter for this wedding was Josie Brackett.
