Red Rose Convention Centre
The Red Rose Convention Centre hosted Sarleen and Robie’s Sikh wedding reception. As with most convention halls, it started out as an empty hall. However true to most Southasian weddings, this couple hired an amazing decor team that transformed the venue into two completely different spaces. One for the post-ceremony lunch, and another for the evening reception. The day began with a traditional Sikh ceremony at Gurdwara Dashmesh Darbar. A Gurdwara is a house of worship for Sikhs. They had a very small intimate ceremony with their close family members.
After the ceremony, they headed to Claireville Park with their family for some for portraits. In this case, the bride and groom were pretty shy and didn’t enjoy being the centre of attention. So once the family portraits were complete, the family disappeared. Thus giving the couple some privacy.
Both bride and groom made a costume change for the second part of their celebration. They revealed chic party looks that set the stage for a fun and relaxed night at Red Rose Convention Centre. They had an assortment of speeches, performances, and games to entertain the crowd. Once the dance floor opened, both the bride and groom opened up the dance floor with their Banjara dance moves.
Not Just a Team of One
When Sarleen and Robie first got ahold of me, I was super excited to be a part of their Sikh wedding. Unfortunately, I was unavailable for the day. Outsourcing a wedding photographer is not something I often do. I prefer to capture all my weddings firsthand in some way. However, sometimes I do make exceptions. So glad I had an associate photographer available to take my place. Max Wong is a photographer who has worked with me for the last couple of years. As such, he has produced some amazing work.
He photographed all the photos in this wedding, while I completed the editing. If this service is something you’re interested in, do let me know. There are only so many weekend dates available in the prime wedding season. So if I’m already booked, I always have an amazing team available. You still get to utilize me in the preplanning of your wedding day. I’ll still be your primary contact throughout the entire process. I’ll even be the one sorting out contracts, payments, editing, and delivery.
However, trusted associates photograph the actual wedding day. They have all been working with me for a few years now and are familiar with my shooting style. So if you like my wedding photography style of shooting, they are the next best thing. Samples of their work can be found on my Blog under the Second Shooter dropdown menu.
The primary shooter for this wedding was Max Wong.
