Riverwood Conservancy
Riverwood Conservancy is a hidden gem in central Mississauga. It serves as a great backdrop for Zahra and Arash’s elopement. I haven’t shot here before but was pleasantly surprised at all of the great photo ops. I first met Arash when I photographed his brother’s wedding last year. Quite honestly, I thought Arash was already a married man back then. So when Zahra contacted me to do this particular mini shoot on a Tuesday at Riverwood Conservancy, I figured it was more like an anniversary shoot. The fact that they just eloped was definitely a pleasant surprise.
These two had a traditional Muslim wedding ceremony. It was a small private event with just close family members and loved ones. My purpose was to simply document their wedding portraits as a couple. So essentially it was an engagement shoot with a wedding dress. This session was only one hour. However, since it was such a small group, we were able to explore a good chunk of the Riverwood Conservancy without delays.
Portrait Session
Have you ever dreamt of trees slowly caressing the wind through streams of sunlight? If so, then you might have been picturing an exact scene this wedding day. The weather report did originally predict rain and as such, I came overprepared with a collection of umbrellas in my car trunk. Yet the rain never came. Instead, we had a beautiful overcast with the occasional sun peeking through.
I definitely recommend that my couples choose locations that are near and dear to them for their photos. Photos in these special spots will hold such a special place in your heart and will be a great story to tell your grandkids 50 years down the road. These two choose the beautiful grounds of Riverwood Conservancy as the sight of their wedding photos as it was the place their love really blossomed.
Needless to say, the day had so much love. I am so honoured that I got to share the big day with this sweet couple even if it was only for an hour. I am also just as excited to share their dreamy summer wedding photos with you all. Thank you.
