Riviera Event Space
Kim and Chris had their fairytale wedding at Riviera Event Space. Once upon a time there was a couple and they got engaged in Disney world. Is there any surprise that their wedding had a fairytale theme to match. We kick things off with morning prep at the couple’s home. Everything in this house was Disney inspired. I’m not talking wedding-specific, but just in general. And Kim’s dress was something straight out of a fairytale. It reminds of Belle’s ballgown from Beauty and the Beast except for the fact that it was all white.
They had a Catholic ceremony at St Elizabeth Seton Church. It was my first time photographing a wedding at this church, but it was absolutely beautiful. Clean, simple, and lots of lighting. As much as I would have wanted to photograph all the little details of this space, my focus was on the bride who just couldn’t stop smiling.
After the ceremony we did sort all the family photos outside the church, then headed to Fairy Lake for the bridal party photos. Didn’t even know this park existed but come on. How perfect is this location for wedding photos? The bridal party was hilarious. We had so much fun rangling them up. A lot of these faces we’ll see again. I’m photographing the bride’s sister’s wedding next summer. I’ll also be capturing another bridesmaid’s sister’s wedding next winter as well.
It seems some family members didn’t want to miss the fun so they ended up meeting us Fairy Lake as well. This did throw our schedule for a bit of a loop. By the time we got everyone sorted, there was only a little time left for couple portraits. Luckily these two are pros so we were able to get some magical shots within the limited time.
Be Our Guest
The evening reception at Riviera Event Space. The venue followed through with the fairytale theme. Their wedding cake had “and they lived happily ever after” inscribed in the icing. They had enchanted rose centrepieces. And twinkling lights lit up everything. As much as I would have wanted to see these two perform a choreographed ballroom dance from Beauty and the Beast, I was equally happy with the dry ice effect. It made them look like they were dancing on a magical cloud. The perfect end to this fairytale wedding.
