Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club
This may have been my first wedding at Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club. It is a beautiful venue. However, it is not my first wedding with this family. I photographed Chrystal’s younger sister’s wedding last year. Despite a hectic Portuguese family portrait session, they decided to bring me back for another round. There are lots of familiar faces. Lots of energetic dancing. The couple had a huge bridal party standing by their side. And it was even more of a family affair with this bride and groom already having five kids going in.
Ceremony
An outdoor golf course wedding at Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club was the perfect setting for this civil ceremony. Open quiet country air was the calm before the storm, literally. The sun was out with a light breeze. We were expecting the perfect day.
The ceremony started off like any other. Families gathered and awaited the procession to begin. The bridal party worked their way down as well as the couple’s own kids. The youngest who also served as the wedding’s ring boy made it down the aisle without any issues. However, when he reached the end, he refused to leave. So instead, he and his dad waiting patiently for the bride/mom to arrive. This wedding was definitely a family affair. The couple may be been the ones exchanging rings and vows. But this marriage was truly the joining of their families.
Portrait Session
The venue’s coordinator was kind enough to take the entire bridal party and us on a tour of the course grounds. This is honestly my favorite part of a golf course wedding. While all golf courses have 18 holes, they also have different landscapes. And the crew knows every picturesque location like the back of their hand. So off we went on a train of ten golf carts to the best locations. The original plan was to pace ourselves and hit every location. However a harsh thunderstorm crept up on us out of nowhere on this otherwise summer day. We did get some great photos on our little adventure. I just wish we didn’t have to cut it short. No worries. I’ve photographed the two sister’s weddings, yet they still have a single brother.
The second shooter for this wedding was Michelle Paquot.
