The Painted Window Wedding Venue
I have never personally considered weddings to be kid friendly events. Even if the bride and groom themselves already have kids, the structure of their wedding is never really designed for kids. They might have some activity books arranged during dinner, but that’s it. So I don’t blame kids when they are restless, tired, or even bored at a wedding. I would be too if I were that age. Which is why I think Ashlie & Devin’s idea of having their wedding at The Painted Window Wedding Venue was a stroke of genius. The Painted Window Wedding Venue is not a location I would have ever expected to host weddings. But their setup is absolutely amazing. It’s fenced in but there were so many things for kids to do. And with the couple having 5 kids together, their nieces/babysitters were the true heroes of the day.
The Painted Window Wedding Venue’s outdoor civil ceremony setup was adorable. It’s right up front and easy to get to. The alter was decorated with fall flowers. Actual seating for guests instead of logs. This couple decorated the reception space with a few diy elements. It’s completely surrounded by a series of hiking trails. So you don’t even have to go far for portraits after the ceremony. This venue was selected for its natural fall colours. However with the rainy season we’ve had all summer, the colours were’t quite there yet. Luckily the decor and florals provided the fall vibe.
The reception was outdoors and tented. They had plenty of heating going around since it was a brisk fall evening. There was an assortment of speeches and a wedding cake. And the night finished with the couple’s first dance on an outdoor dance floor surrounded by string lights.
