Toronto Botanical Gardens
Toronto Botanical Gardens is a gem in central Scarborough. It serves as a great backdrop for Rosina & Robert’s elopement. I do photography sessions here all the time, however this was my first time doing wedding portraits at this location. And what a beautiful day to do it.
These two had a traditional wedding ceremony on their own. It was a small private event with just close family members and loved ones. My purpose was to simply document their formal wedding portraits. Basically to have nicer photos than what could be captured on a cell phone. So essentially it was an engagement shoot with a wedding dress and the family in toe. This session was only one hour. However, since it was such a small group, we were able to explore a good chunk of the Toronto Botanical Gardens without delays.
Portrait Session
Have you ever dreamt of trees slowly caressing the wind through streams of sunlight? If so, then you might have been picturing an exact scene from this wedding day. The weather report did originally predict rain and as such, I came overprepared with a collection of umbrellas in my car trunk. Yet the rain never came. Instead, we had the complete opposite. It was so hot. Like brutally hot. Any spot of shade I could find, I utilized for photos. And with so many of their family members being older, I sorted through their photos pretty quick in order to give them a well deserved break.
I definitely recommend that my couples choose locations that are near and dear to them for their photos. Photos in these special spots will hold such a special place in your heart and will be a great story to tell your grandkids 50 years down the road. These two choose the beautiful grounds of Toronto Botanical Gardens as the sight of their wedding photos as it was the place their love really blossomed.
Needless to say, the day had so much love. I am so honoured that I got to share the big day with this sweet couple even if it was only for an hour. I am also just as excited to share their dreamy summer wedding photos with you all. Thank you.
