Vaughan City Hall
Sanaz and Ruben’s elopement at Vaughan City Hall was the kind of day that reminds me why I love being a wedding photographer. Intimate, heartfelt, and effortlessly joyful, their celebration unfolded in a way that felt entirely true to who they are.
Their civil ceremony took place in the venue’s outdoor garden. It was a peaceful pocket of greenery tucked behind the building. The sun filtered softly through the trees as they exchanged vows, surrounded by the closest members of their family. There was a beautiful calmness to the moment, as if the world slowed just long enough for them to soak in every word, every smile, every squeeze of the hand.
Richmond Green
After the ceremony, we all made our way to Richmond Green for portraits. This spot never disappoints, and on this day, it felt like it was showing off just for them. We wandered to the waterfall first, capturing the two of them laughing together as the mist drifted behind them. From there, we moved through the park’s picturesque gazebo and the canopy gardens—each location giving us its own unique backdrop. Their families joined in for group photos, and the mix of candid moments and lightly guided portraits created a gallery full of genuine warmth.
As the sun started to dip, we wrapped up and headed to the Babushka Club, where their friends were waiting to celebrate. The restaurant was relaxed, fun, and full of that “everyone knows everyone” energy. Drinks clinked, music played, and conversations drifted effortlessly around the room. It was the perfect ending to an already beautiful day. It was simple, meaningful, and filled with love.
Being part of Sanaz and Ruben’s elopement felt like witnessing a love story unfold in its purest form. I’m grateful I got to capture it all.
